Switch 2 brings with it all sorts of features not offered, or even possible on the original Switch. That includes DLSS, and now we know the first Switch 2 game to utilize the tech.
NVIDIA’s DLSS, or Deep Learning Super Sampling, is an AI-powered image enhancement technology that improves game performance and visuals. It uses artificial intelligence to upscale images from a lower resolution to a higher resolution, effectively increasing frame rates and improving visual quality. This tech is available on Switch 2, and one of the platform’s launch titles will employ the feature.
CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition does indeed use DLSS on Switch 2. According to the studio, the game uses DLSS in handheld and docked modes, and you’ll find it running in both the performance and quality versions of the experience. In other words, no matter how you’re playing Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Switch 2, DLSS will be powering the visual experience.
