With a little over a month until the Switch 2’s launch, you might think there’s nothing left to discover from Nintendo’s official trailers and reveals. Luckily, there’s still plenty of time for excited fans to scour every pixel of every screenshot in an attempt to dig up something new. The latest tidbit to be successfully dug up concerns the shape of the user icons on the Switch 2’s user select screen. You can see an example in the above photo (helpfully circled by Complex_Debt_95 on Reddit).
As you probably know, the Switch allowed you to store multiple user profiles which could be switched between via the home menu. The Switch 2 is no different… with one exception. A recently released promotional photo from Nintendo shows the Switch 2’s user select screen, and as you can see, the selected user icon is round, whereas it would’ve been square with sharp corners on the original Switch.
Perhaps the new icons’ rounded edges are intended to give the console a softer, friendlier look and feel? Take a look at the original version below for comparison, and see what you think.
