Shin’en calls Switch 2’s power “amazing,” discusses challenges of Fast Fusion’s GameShare usage

Shin’en is bringing Fast Fusion to the Switch 2 on launch day, June 5th, 2025. The developer has long been known as one that manages to squeeze every last power out of a platform and then some, and that’s exactly what they’re doing with Switch 2. That said, it’s clear Shin’en has a lot more power to work with this time around.

In an interview with Nintendo Everything, Shin’en CEO Manfred Linzner spoke quite highly of the Switch 2’s tech specs, saying , “it’s amazing how much power you can get out of a device that also works as a handheld.” This led Linzer to say that Fast Fusion will be “much more alive and beautiful” as compared to Fast RMX on Switch.

As we’ve previously detailed, Fast Fusion includes GameShare support for two players, with only one needing the game. This will work both locally and online, and Shin’en also made sure that GameChat is supported for those online sessions. While there’s no doubt the features work flawlessly, Linzer makes it clear that getting GameShare working took some extra effort from the team, and some unique solutions had to be conjured.

“Until recently Fast Fusion was the only Nintendo Switch 2 game we have ever seen. So everything we’ve done was a first, which is always a bit difficult. Implementing GameShare can be done in a variety of ways. We decided to render the game two times for the two screens. This means this is very demanding for the game engine and needed a lot of optimization. So this was actually difficult.”
