The birdman returns in the next-gen remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, coming to Switch and Switch 2 on July 11. The legendary skateboarding series first launched on the original PlayStation in 1999, and the shred’s not dead. Turns out the same goes for some Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 missions some fans thought were gone completely.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 developer Iron Galaxy has assuaged some fears about Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 in particular, saying that many of the objectives from that experience aren’t gone, but have been shifted for the remake. (h/t VGC) Due to the 2-minute time limit, some of the THPS4 missions couldn’t be crammed into the baseline goals, so they’ve been moved to the Pro Goals system. In other words you’ll still find much of the same challenges, but you’ll have to work a bit harder to get them.
With that said, Iron Galaxy did mention that mini-games like tennis won’t make the cut, so if you had your heart set on enjoying some action on the courts while skateboarding, you’re going to have to fire up an original copy of the game.
