Cotton Reboot! High Tension! due out July 31st, 2025 in Japan (UPDATE)

Back in May of last year, BEEP announced that the side-scrolling shmup Cotton Reboot! High Tension! was set for Switch. The title was originally slated for a Spring 2025 release in Japan, but it appears things have slipped since then. Today, BEEP has confirmed that the game will launch in Japan come July 24th, 2025.

Cotton Reboot! High Tension! is a sequel to the 2021 game, Cotton Reboot!, and it will see both a physical and digital release. The game will cost 6,380 yen for the standard edition and 10,780 yen for the limited edition, but details of the limited edition package haven’t been shared.

BEEP still hasn’t shown any screens for the game, nor have they dropped a trailer. All we really know is that there will be a new playable character named Macaron, and the villain’s name is Willow. BEEP plans to hold voice actor auditions for Macaron and Willow, and they’ll also be looking for an ambassador/influencer to promote the game.

Last but not least, the soundtrack for Cotton Reboot! High Tension! will be composed by Hiroyuki Kawada and Japanese chiptune band YMCK.
