GameChat is a service on Switch 2 that lets you do voice and video chats with other friends online. You can hop into GameChat to chat it up with your buddies while playing games on Switch 2, be it the same game for some multiplayer action, or different games altogether. It took Nintendo quite a long time to offer baked-in voice chat for their titles, but it’s very nice that the time has finally come.
Chances are you’ve been in a few GameChat sessions already. We have no doubt plenty of you have had some lengthy voice chats with your pals, and others also jumped on camera to enhance the sessions. We’re also willing to bet that you had no clue there’s a time limit to your GameChat sessions, but don’t worry, as you’ll most likely never hit it.
Turns out Nintendo will end a GameChat session after its been running for a whopping 24 hours. Even then, Nintendo will make sure users know that the session is coming to a close, as the Switch 2 will send out warnings of the closure 30 minutes, 5 minutes, and 1 minute before the service calls it quits.
If you can’t get everything you need to say out there within 24 hours, we’re thinking you might need to work on your communication skills!
