Switch Lite mod allows for HDMI output

If you’ve got your hands on a Switch 2 since its release, you’re probably content to play that and not look backward at past Switch versions. That said, there are still plenty of people out there with Switch Lites who might like to hear about a way to get a little extra juice out of their purchase. The Switch Lite is a more compact version of the original Switch which notably only allows for handheld play.

Modder Taki Udon has been working on a Switch Lite mod for a while now, previously showing off the addition of a 1080p OLED screen to the device. In his latest YouTube video, he demonstrates a more complete version of this mod which includes another upgrade: the ability to connect to an external monitor via HDMI. You can watch this in action in the above video, as he seamlessly connects to a monitor using a mini HDMI cable and the Switch Lite as a controller.

This mod doesn’t require any soldering, so it should be easier for anyone less confident in their hardware modding abilities. Unfortunately, it’s currently sold out on Taki’s web site, but was previously available for $90. Click here for more details.
