You’ll find them included in our Best Games of July article too.
Abiotic Factor (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – July 22nd
Prepare for a wild ride into a sci-fi survival crafting experience with Abiotic Factor.
Imagine if Half-Life’s Black Mesa research facility had a catastrophic containment breach, and you, as a mere scientist, were left to survive the ensuing interdimensional chaos with up to five friends. Stranded miles beneath the surface, your workplace becomes a cosmic battle zone filled with anomalous entities, invading foes from other dimensions, and a trigger-happy military sect.
This game masterfully blends some 90s sci-fi aesthetics with deep character progression, as you are left to utilise use your PHD (and your wits!) to craft outlandish tools and weapons from scavenged resources, build ingenious bases, and outwit supernatural threats.
It’s a fresh take on the survival genre that’s garnered “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam via Early Access, mostly for its unique premise and engaging co-op. And this week, it feels like a no-brainer for Game Pass play.
Wheel World (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – July 23rd
Get ready to pedal your way to glory and save the universe in Wheel World, a charming and unique open-world cycling adventure.
You play as Kat, a young cyclist chosen by ancient spirits to save Wheel World from total collapse. Explore a stunning semi-open world filled with impressive vistas, hidden secrets, and challenging races that will test your cycling skills. Think Tour de France, but much weirder.
Customise your bike with an endless array of parts, transforming it from a sleek speedster to an off-road beast. The game blends the thrill of high-stakes races against elite teams and quirky rivals with moments of breathtaking exploration, all backed by an original soundtrack from Italians Do It Better.
It promises a truly unique and joyful riding experience. Our full review is coming very soon.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – July 24th
For those craving a dark and challenging action RPG, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers arrives as a soulslike set in the tumultuous late Ming Dynasty.
You are Wuchang, a skilled pirate warrior afflicted by the horrifying “Feathering disease” and struck by amnesia. So far, so gaming…
Navigate a world plagued by warring factions and monstrous creatures born from this mysterious illness. Explore forgotten temples, overgrown ruins, and shadowed paths, enhancing your arsenal and mastering new skills harvested from fallen foes.
Best of all though, you’ll get to evolve your fighting style by sacrificing elusive Red Mercury and develop unique combat techniques. Battle grotesque abominations and draw on ancient lore in visceral combat, as your choices unravel Wuchang’s lost memories and determine one of several endings.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers promises a rich storyline, dynamic combat, and breathtaking visuals in a world veiled in chaos and death. Grab a download from the Xbox Store.
