NOTE: This mod heavily modifies geo and adds "locks" to a variety of objects in the game. It is STRONGLY suggested you start a new playthrough with this mod, although many portions of the mod will work fine on an existing save file.
Standard warnings about getting banned if you play online obviously apply here due to the large amount of changes to the base game.
What this mod seeks to do is to accentuate certain parts of what I love about Elden Ring, and wanted to see more of in my play through. I wanted to have more puzzles to solve, more hidden areas, more ways to improve my character, and especially to feel like my character is growing in power more directly as a result of the exploring that I did in the game. With this mod you’ll find brand new ways to make your character stronger as well as direct passive benefits to putting more of the Elden Ring itself together as you venture through the game.
This is NOT an overhaul mod, but it should provide a fresh experience when playing the vanilla sections of Elden Ring. This mod attempts to take existing things we like to do in Elden Ring (explore and find cool stuff!) and make that even more rewarding. Notable changes are:
- Great Rune changes (see below)
- Armor Set bonuses for select armor sets (including some integrated visual overhauls for certain armor sets), notably the base game Remembrance sets. Equip the full set to get a persistent effect similar to a talisman
- Added additional status icons to the game to help with visual clarity of when the set bonuses or great rune changes are in effect on your character.
- Increased the duration of all weapon grease effects by *about* 50%. If you’ve held back on using these consumables due to fear of them running out, or felt pressured to play too aggressively when you use one to get “value” from it before it wears out, this should take some of the pressure off and increase the value of this system for you.
Great Rune Changes
With this mod, there is now a lot of value to go and collect great runes, even if you have a favorite one to use. All great runes will now bestow a minor version of themselves on you just by acquiring them, and those minor versions will be automatically replaced with the “big” version of the Great Rune when you equip one and use a rune arc to activate it. Now there’s more reason than ever to climb every tower and unlock every Great Rune!
Speaking of Rune Arcs, most people don’t (in my opinion!) use them as often as they should, because they feel like a precious resource. The number of rune arcs available on vendors has been greatly increased all over the world, and many more rune arcs have been added as loot all throughout the Lands Between. Explore, find them, use them!
Armor Set Bonuses
Added “Set” bonuses to all Remembrance sets from the base game that activate when all armor pieces from that set are worn. Essentially these are themed effects that feel appropriate to the armor set and add a 5th Talisman effect to your character.
Big changes to the Catacombs
Most of the Catacombs in the game have been locked away, and you have to find the keys to each one to enter them. Start with Stormfoot Catacombs and you’ll be led, one by one, to the next Catacomb in the series. In the catacombs you’ll also need to find another key hidden inside the dungeon itself to unlock the mechanism for the Boss Door lever. Throughout the catacombs new loot items and most importantly (to me!) there are a lot of new fake walls and small to medium additional spaces have been squeezed into the catacombs. Finally, I felt that there was too much repetition of the same bosses in the catacombs, so in a few cases the bosses have been swapped out for other enemies to fight.
Select Armor Visual Changes
Several armor sets have been visually changed, by integrating other creator’s mods into this mod.
