A whole new flock of pets just arrived in Grow A Garden, and now’s a great time to get more familiar with them. In this guide we run over all the different Grow A Garden zen pets and what they do.

Grow A Garden Zen Pets Guide
Here we’ve detailed the different pets, by rarity category. We describe each of the pets, and explain their passive ability. Currently, all the pets are available from the Zen Egg, which is itself available through the Zen Shop.
Shiba Inu – Uncommon Pet
A small Shiba dog with a curly tail.
Digs up a randon seed every minute or so, similar to the Dog or Golden Retriever.
Nihonzaru – Rare Pet
A macaque monkey with grey fur and a pink face
Boosts all pet passives, as long at the pet has access to a Hot Spring. (These are available in the Zen Shop for 30 Chi.)
Tanchozuru – Legendary Pet
A crane with a black neck, and red feathers on top of its head.
May mutate fruits into Tranquil every ten minutes, a good choice for getting Chi, or advancing further up the Zen Tree.
Tanuki – Legendary Pet
A brown raccoon dog with a dark mask over its eyes.
Every ten minutes or so, the Tanuki does a random action around the garden.
Kappa – Mythical Pet
A green, turtle-like creature with a duck-like bill.
Applies the Wet mutation to crops in the area every few minutes. A small chance of applying the Bloolit mutation instead of Wet.
Kitsune – Prismatic Pet
A large fox-like pet with white fur. It has many tails, and red feet and tail tips.
Goes into other players’ gardens every 20 minutes or so, and applies the Chakra mutation to it before duplicating it and sending it to the pet’s owner. May apply the even more valuable Foxfire Chakra mutation.
Kodama – Legendary Pet
A small humanoid creature with a skull-like helmet with antlers and a chestplate.
May apply the Tranquil mutation to any Zen-type crops you harvest while the Kodama is active.
Maneki-Neko – Uncommon Pet
A white cat with red inner ears, wearing a gold bell and raising one paw.
May refund your fruit from time to time.
Raiju – Mythical Pet
A wolf-like creature with white fur and yellow accents.
Eats Shocked fruits and then fires out lightning that gives the Shocked or Static mutations to crops.
Corrupted Kodama – Legendary Pet
Resembles an angrier looking Kodama with a metal helmet and a bone chestplate with as glowing design.
May apply the Corrupt mutation to any Zen-type crops you harvest while the Corrupted Kodama is active.
Corrupted Kitsune – Prismatic Pet
A Kitsune with black fur and blue accents.
Mutates fruit around every twenty minutes, giving them the Corrupt Chakra, or Corrupt Foxfire Chakra mutation.
