Now available on Xbox, PlayStation and PC – with a Switch release pencilled in for later this year – you’d be forgiven for being a bit confused about Achilles: Survivor being a bullet ‘heaven’.
All this refers to is that you are the most powerful character on screen, and all the little impish enemies to defeat are attempting to dodge your projectiles: the inverse of a bullet hell. Think Vampire Survivors and the many, many clones of such a classic, and you get the jist.
Where Achilles: Survivor differs is primarily in the unique structure-building system that must be mastered if you are to reign victorious.
As well as deciding between over 15 characters to take into battle at the beginning of a run, you can imprint your design onto a given run by erecting traps, healing shrines, and more in order to stop your opposition before they even get the chance to close the distance.

As is common in this survivors-like genre, throughout a run you’ll be making use of a variety of power-ups, ranging from common, to rare, to epic, each of which can buff an existing ability, or bestow completely new abilities upon you, straight from the gods themselves!
