The long-rumoured, long-leaked remake of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag looks set to be announced as a PEGI rating for the game has been spotted in the wild.
A tip of my sailor hat to @CorkbenYT for spotting the listing on PEGI, which not only confirms the remake itself but also confirms the rumoured title: Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced. Unfortunately, no other details are given away in terms of platforms, just that it has been rating 18+.
Presumably, if you manage to get your boat sunk, the title will change to Black Flag Resinked. I’ll….I’ll see myself out.
Ubisoft themselves confirmed that they have an unannounced title due for release by the end of there fiscal year, which is March of 2026. According to InsiderGaming, that title is indeed Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, and their sources tell them it’ll be launching the week of March 23rd.
Meanwhile, previous reports point toward the remake being substantial, including numerous changes designed to make Black Flag more like the modern Assassin’s Creed games. Unsurprisingly, fans are divided on this. For example, the modern day sections are reportedly getting cut out, and RPG mechanic are getting put in.
And let’s not forget, The Game Awards are this week, so there’s a strong chance it’ll be revealed there.
As a big lover of Black Flag, I am both excited and nervous about the remake. I’d love to see it on modern hardware and I’m even supportive of a remaster or remake, but if the rumours are true, Black Flag will be much closer to the modern games, and that doesn’t sound as interesting.
