Crunchyroll has opened pre-registration for Fishing Star World Tour on mobile. Developed by GREE, the title was first released on Nintendo Switch in early 2019. Although there won’t be any Toy-Con for mobile, it still will bring most of the fun stuff from the original title.
Travel and fish
The game lets you travel the globe as an aspiring angler. You move between different regions, casting a line in a wide variety of waters. You’ll eventually fill out an extensive in-game encyclopaedia of aquatic life as well as other things.
Fishing Star World Tour on mobile will offer more than 180 different types of catchable creatures, including frogs, salamanders, and kelp. Each fishing spot has specific conditions, and success often depends on adjusting equipment to suit the environment and the target.
Across 40 different locations, each stage features between three and eight species to discover. So, you can make repeated visits rather than one-and-done sessions. Completing challenges rewards you with new tackle and access to additional areas.
On mobile, you’ll get over 70 different types of rods, reels, and lures in Fishing Star World Tour. You’ll even find rods inspired by stag beetles. Then, there are different baits, handles, and other tackle to unlock.
Fishing Star World Tour on mobile won’t be like other fishing games
You begin the game with a series of skill-based mini-games that trigger once a fish bites. These sequences are fluid and responsive, with additional mechanics like the Chance circle and ghost rods.
Visually, the game really is a spectacle. The fishing locations have more fantastical environments and stranger creatures than the usual lineup of pike or trout. Some areas even feature unusual landmarks, such as a kangaroo statue or a rock formation shaped like a shark.
If you have a Crunchyroll membership, you can pre-register for Fishing Star World Tour on the Google Play Store.
