The Best Android Gacha Games – Updated!

Gacha games are getting increasingly popular as time goes on, but what are the best Android gacha games? We’ve played through a bunch of them over the years, so we’ve got a pretty good idea of which gachas are worth your time!

Gacha games are essentially character-collecting games where you summon a range of heroes to place onto your team. While some gacha games stray away from the usual system, many rely on limited-time character banners. Take a look at our favorites – you may find a new gacha to play!

The Best Android Gacha Games

On with the games.

Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact is arguably the most popular gacha game at this current time. The loyal fanbase keeps growing, and for good reason. A lot of gacha games should take a few notes from the overall gameplay in Genshin Impact. It’s rare to come across a gacha game that has a fully open world – which is what Genshin does brilliantly!

Arknights

Arknights is a well-known entry in the gacha genre. While many gacha games decline after a while, Arknights certainly hasn’t! The loyal fanbase keeps growing, and there’s no sign of it stopping any time soon.

The character designs are amazing, with the game set in a futuristic post-apocalyptic world. Immerse yourself in the brilliant storyline, or battle it out strategically in tactical combat.

Honkai Impact 3rd

Feature image for our news piece on a Honkai Impact 3rd update. It shows a character kneeling on the ground amid pieces of wreckage.

While it might be one of MiHoYo’s older titles by gacha standards, Honkai Impact 3rd is still a lively place to be. This sci-fi RPG has a ton of content to work through, and looks just as good as its more recent cousins. It’s pretty free-to-play friendly, and you can enjoy the content without an imperative to splash out. There are still regular events too.

Eversoul

Take care of your town, interact with the characters you collect, and battle against enemies in exciting combat.

Each character has a set of unique abilities that are accompanied by gorgeous animations. Even the storyline is great, with each cutscene being voiced – a rarity for some gacha games!

Marvel Strike Force

When Marvel Strike Force was announced, we weren’t all that psyched about yet another mobile Marvel game. Fortunately, it turned out to be the best darn gacha RPG on the platform.

It’s stunning visually, with our favorite superheroes coming to life in a way that few other mobile games have managed. More importantly, though, you can play it entirely for free and not miss out on anything.

Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle

If you’re a fan of the Dragon Ball Z franchise, you may have already heard about this game! If not, then welcome to Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle. Play through a wide variety of addictive puzzle games with brilliant 2D art. You’ll spot familiar faces from the franchise, as you experience a brand new storyline!

Goddess of Victory: Nikke

Nikke took the world by storm when it was first released – mainly due to obvious reasons. Fanservice aside, it’s an incredibly popular gacha game as of right now. The overall aesthetic is beautiful, as the game is set in a world inspired by science fiction. Recruit a wide variety of characters to use, as you take part in engaging combat with brilliant battle effects.

Honkai Star Rail

Feature image for our guide on how to redeem codes in Honkai Star Rail. It shows the characters March 7th, Himeko, Dan Heng, and Welt in front of the space train, the Astral Express.

The latest from MiHoYo’s stable, at least until Zenless Zone Zero drops, Honkai Star Rail is another gorgeous-looking gacha where the free content is undeniably high quality. The battle system is a satisfying, faster-paced spin on traditional RPG battles, and the character designs are excellent. If riding a space train on adventures across the galaxy sounds like your jam, it may be one for you.

Limbus Company

Feature image for our Limbus Company tier list. It shows a battle taking place in-game, with various characters facing some mutated humans.

If you’re a fan of Lobotomy Corporation and Library Of Ruina, or just enjoy darker, stranger settings against the usual anime optimism, then give Limbus Company a look. Created by Project Moon, the studio behind Lobotomy Corporation and Library Of Ruina, it drops you into the same world as their other titles, and comes with a similar set of complex mechanics to master while you pursue the mysteries that plague you and your squad… like why you have a clock for a head. Good question!

Reverse 1999

Feature image for our Reverse 1999 tier list. It shows 3 characters, Sotheby, X, and Charlie.

So what if you’re not a fan of your average gacha? Well, we’d say if there was one to give a try it would be Reverse 1999. This slick time-travelling game combines an intriguing story, great character design, and some solid gameplay that’s easy to pick up and hard to master.

Punishing: Gray Raven

Feature image for our Punishing: Gray Raven tier list. It shows the character screen in-game, with several different characters to choose from.

Another extremely pretty-looking, action-centred gacha that seems to consistently bring quality content to the table.

Wuthering Waves

Feature image for our Wuthering Waves Effects guide. Image shows a character fighting a monster with purple lights surrounding them.

Ooh, it’s so pretty. This open-world ARPG had a few teething problems on launch and we’ve not been wowed by the story so far, but there’s a lot to love about it. It looks great with impressive fidelity and art direction, while the combat is fun and challenging.

Arknights Endfield

Recently released across the platforms, this is a successor to Arknights that takes a much more high budget gacha approach. It switched between a third-person perspective action RPG with lock-on combat, and a resource management industry game in the vein of Factorio. It feels like it should not work but it kinda does.
