Abyss is out, and if you’re a Roblox player and not overcome by total fishing game fatigue then there’s a good chance that you’re starting out too, and taking instructions from the ocean-dwelling eldritch horror who dragged you down there too… and maybe you’re stumped on one of the starting quests. Well, do not worry. We’re here to help you with how to find Geodes in Abyss so you can appease the big tentacle monster. Why are we working for it, again?
How To Find Geodes In Abyss
Now let’s cover the important stuff.
How To Find Geodes
The Kraken explains that fish sometimes swallow Geodes. That.. isn’t a great explanation of what to do, though. Geodes are a potential reward from the treasure bonuses that appear in the catch minigame when you start reeling in a fish. They appear as a treasure chest on the minigame bar.
To get the chest, you need to keep your catch bar over the chest until the progress bar around it fills up. (While also not losing the fish!)
Afterwards, you’ll get the reward, which may be a Geode.
What Is A Geode?
A Geode is a round rock-like item. It’s not particularly useful on its own, but what’s inside might be. You can take the Geode to Virelia, an NPC near The Kraken in the Forgotten Dome, and give her some money to crack it. Cracking a Geode takes a short period of cooldown time. (You can go and fish while she’s working.)
When the timer runs down, the contents, an Artifact, will go straight to your inventory.
There are different varieties of Geode, with the Moss Geode the one you’re most likely to run into first.
What Is An Artifact?
An Artifact is an equipable item that gives you passive buffs while you’re wearing it. These can give you things like a passive oxygen boost, or lower cooldowns. That is, they’re generally pretty useful to have. The Geodes work on something like a gacha system, where you have variable chances to get different items. Some are rare than others. Expect a ton of Sea Stars.
What Are Geodes Used For?
Besides the obvious mentioned above? Geodes are also needed for one of the Kraken quests, which while they’re not technically essential, are a great source of money in the early game. We’d say the one asking you to find a Geode is a little more confusing than the others.
Other Questions
This section is for other, not so central questions.
Abyss is a fishing game on Roblox released into public Beta in February 2026. It’s a fishing game… but not the same as others like it. Instead of fishing above the water, you’re dragged down below and need to survive at the bottom using oxygen. Fisch meet Subnautica.
The Kraken is one of the first NPCs you’ll run into in Abyss… and the whole reason you’re trapped at the bottom of the sea where you cannot breathe. It’s a huge pit full of teeth and tentacles that hauled you down to the Forgotten Depths… and it also has the absolute audacity to make you do quests for it.
It does give you your first O2 tube and harpoon gun, but evenso.
We’re working on it! In the meantime, we’ve got some content for another Roblox game about oceans and crying because you lost a rare catch, our guide to the cultist lair in Fisch.
