Pjusk – A puzzler from Zooperdan for the Commodore Amiga [UPDATE]

While many of you are looking forward to playing the finished version of ‘RallyXSE’, there’s another game that’s worth checking out by the same developer, especially if you like puzzle games, is Zooperdan’s Amiga game of ‘Pjusk’. A Sokoban like game whereby you must defeat enemies in the right order and collect power-ups along the way to carve your way to the exit. To coincide with this news, there’s some further info and footage below.

And here’s the details. “This is a small puzzle game for Commodore Amiga 500 KS1.3 (+512 slow mem) and upward in which you are trapped in a treacherous dungeon. Bump into enemies to attack them but be careful because some are strong, and some will weaken you to the point that you can’t continue. Use pick-ups to your advantage in your fight against evil dungeon-dwellers. Can you complete all 24 levels? Good luck :)”

UPDATE : Zooperdan has made available a new version of the game and here is what he had to say. “This is a complete rewrite of Pjusk from scratch using AmiBlitz3. The original version was made using Scorpion Engine, and a while ago I accidentally messed up the project folder. I always planned to release a level expansion pack which meant I needed to have a working source code that I could expand upon. While no new levels in current release, Pjusk is now primed for future expansions. There’s not much difference between this version and the original. If you played that one there isn’t much of a reason to also play this – unless you really want to 🙂

Some changes in this version:

  • Added keyboard controls
  • Noticeable performance increase in densely populated levels.
  • The original version had a bug which sometimes caused the game to not register that the player reached the level exit.
  • Added in game menu (joybutton/enter) for restarting level and exit to main menu.
