A Bold New Setting – Welcome To Norcek
This time around, the Explorers find themselves inside the mysterious Norcek facility, a retro-futuristic complex brimming with advanced machinery and unanswered questions.
Gone are the medieval castles and icy wastelands of earlier titles. Instead, Tomorrow shifts into a sci-fi inspired environment filled with sleek corridors, unsettling experiments and secrets buried beneath polished steel.
It’s a tonal pivot for the series, and arguably its most ambitious backdrop yet.
Communication Remains King
At its core, We Were Here Tomorrow stays true to what made the franchise so compelling in the first place: communication.
Each player experiences the world differently. You will not see the same clues. You will not have access to the same information. And you absolutely cannot progress without talking – clearly and precisely – to your partner via the in-game walkie-talkies.
Trust has always been the series’ secret weapon. This time, it’s being pushed even further.
Asymmetric Abilities Change The Dynamic
For the first time in the series, both Explorers come equipped with distinct futuristic attire and unique abilities beyond simple communication tools.
That means puzzles are no longer just about describing symbols or reading instructions aloud. Now, players must leverage individual powers and perspectives to overcome obstacles. One player might manipulate technology. The other might navigate restricted systems. Neither can succeed alone.
The result? A co-op experience that feels more specialised, and potentially more chaotic, than ever.
A Legacy Of Testing Friendships
Total Mayhem Games has steadily refined the formula since the original We Were Here launched in 2017. That was followed by We Were Here Too, We Were Here Together, and the expansive We Were Here Forever – each building on the communication-driven core.
We’ve covered and reviewed every major entry in the series, watching it evolve from a clever co-op experiment into a fully-fledged franchise built around shared problem-solving.
Now, We Were Here Tomorrow looks to redefine expectations once again.
Co-Op Done Differently
In a gaming landscape flooded with multiplayer options, the We Were Here series continues to carve out a unique niche, one built on patience, clarity and genuine collaboration.
We Were Here Tomorrow aims to be the most ambitious iteration yet, blending asymmetric abilities with a bold new setting and the communication-first design the franchise is known for.
Come 2026, friendships will once again be put to the test. Just make sure your walkie-talkie batteries are charged.
We’ll keep you in the loop.
