Legacy Of Atlantis Rumoured To Launch In Early 2027 – WGB

A new claim has surfaced which says the upcoming remake of the original Tomb Raider game, titled Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, will launch in February, 2027. If true, it means the project has been delayed.

The information comes from X account Raiders Society which focuses on all all things Tomb Raider.

The account doesn’t say very much except that the game is “rumored to be released in February 2027.”

It doesn’t mention if this information stems from an insider source, or if they are just reporting on some other rumours that I cannot find anywhere. In other words, it’s annoyingly vague.

Normally, then, I’d just advise you to ignore the post, especially since developers Flying Wild Hog and Crystal Dynamics have both stated the game is scheduled to launch this year. However, this same account also previously correctly reported on the announcement of a Tomb Raider remake debuting at The Game Awards in 2025, and they used similiar wording at the time before eventually clarifying that their sources were anonymous.

Of course, they could have said that in the post and saved everything some confusion. Likewise, if this latest tweet is based on anonymous source, they could say so.

If the information is correct, the game has been delayed into next year. This could be due to yet another round of layoffs occuring at Crystal Dynamics. I’m not sure that’s correct, though, because in this instance Crystal Dynamics is acting more as a support studop for Flying Wild Hog.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis was announced as a “reimagining” of the original 1996 title, with Amazon on publishing duty.

There was also a brand new entry in the franchise announced alongside Legacy of Atlantis, titled Tomb Raider: Catalyst which is scheduled to launch in 2027. It’s unclear if it has also been delayed, as it is being developed by Crystal Dynamics.
