Nintendo reminds Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere players to pick the right region
As you no doubt know, the Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere demo goes live on August 27th, 2022. You probably have the demo sitting on your Switch right now just waiting to be used. Well here’s a word of warning for you when you’re ready to hop in. Make sure you pick the correct region for play!
Nintendo has shared a tweet in Japan telling players to double check that they’re picking the correct region for the Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere demo. Once you make your pick, it cannot be undone, which means you’re stuck with whatever you choose at the start. Choosing the incorrect region could result in different demo playtimes and a much worse experience overall. Regions available in the Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere demo include Japan, North America, Europe, and a combination region covering Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Korea.
Please note that the full release of Splatoon 3 will let you change regions, but not whenever you want. Once you make a region change, you’ll have to go through a cooldown period before it can be changed again. In other words, Nintendo doesn’t want people jumping all over the place virtually and messing with online play/Splatfest outcomes.
