Apex Legends Season 15 adds a new Legend in Catalyst, a brand new map, the addition of a highly sought-after in-game feature, a brand new cosmetic, and changes to the Firing Range, along with a ton of balance and bug fixes.

Defensive Conjurer: Catalyst

Catalyst is the newest addition to the Apex Legends roster. The defensive-minded Legend utilizes ferrofluid to create blinding walls and crippling spike traps to assist her allies in battle. Here are her abilities:

Catalyst Abilities

  • Tactical Ability: Piercing Spikes
    • Throw out a patch of ferrofluid which turns into spikes when enemies are near. Catalyst remains immune to enemy spikes.
  • Passive Ability: Barricade
    • Reinforce doors, strengthening them and locking them to enemies. Spaces, where doors have been destroyed, can also be reinforced.
  • Ultimate: Dark Veil
    • Raise a permeable wall of ferrofluid. Enemies who walk through it will be slowed and partially blinded for a brief time.

New Map, Map Rotation, Gifting, Stickers, and Firing Range Changes

Broken Moon

Apex Legends fans are getting a new map called the Broken Moon for Season 15. The map has fourteen (14) POIs that will give players a unique experience both visually and gameplay-wise. POIs such as the Terraformer, Statis Net Array, Atmostation and Backup Atmo, and Perpetual Core are just some of the many areas on the map where players can loot and duke it out to come out on top.

The new map also introduces Zip Rails – a quick and easy way to move between the map’s multiple POIs. The Zip Rails function very similarly to zip lines while providing increased speed and momentum.

Season 15 Map Rotation

The fastest way to learn the new map is to play it as often as possible, which is why Broken Moon has been added to Season 15’s map rotation alongside classic maps Olympus and World’s Edge.

New Feature: Gifting

Apex Legends fans have long been asking for a gifting feature that allows players to purchase in-store items for other players in-game.

Season 15 finally adds that feature to the game, and players can finally purchase bundles and other cosmetic items from the in-game store and gift them to their in-game friends.

New Cosmetic: Stickers

With the Gifting feature now live, you can finally send over cosmetic items to your favorite friends in Apex Legends, and what better way to try out the new feature than by utilizing a new cosmetic feature – Stickers.

According to the devs, these Stickers can be used on healing items such as Shield Cells, Shield Batteries, Syringes, Med Kits, and Phoenix Kits, so you can heal up in style.

Firing Range Changes

The Firing Range is a great place to practice and get to know the weapons in Apex Legends. You can pick up just about every weapon and attachment found in the game and shoot around with them to your heart’s content.

Unfortunately, weapons and attachments were the only things you can try out in the Firing Range, as you cannot demo Legends you haven’t unlocked in-game – until now, that is.

Season 15 finally unlocks all Legends for practice use in the Firing Range. This can help players try out any Legend that interests them so they can make the ideal choice when it comes to their next Legend purchase or help players master their favorite Legends without the repercussions that come with playing Ranked matches.
