5 Most Underrated Decorative Items in Minecraft

Learn what are the top 5 most underrated decorative items in Minecraft 1.19:

5. Clock

Clocks are time-telling devices that display the current in-game position of the sun and the moon. Clocks only function properly in the Overworld. In addition to the wide range of blocks in Minecraft, there is lots more to explore and do.

As well as raising animals and defeating monsters, you can also craft! There are tons of small gadgets, including the clock, which can be held or used in Redstone contraptions. Minecraft’s Clock, sometimes called a Watch, is a simple time-telling device with two halves- a “day” side and a “night” side. It tells you the sun and the moon’s position based on the horizon.

They can be naturally found in Chests in Ruined Portals and the lower decks of a Shipwreck’s stern section, although this is extremely rare. As the day goes on, the face of the clock rotates clockwise, showing a proportionate amount on either side.

If it is midday, the clock will show only the day side. If it is midnight, it will show only the night side. If it is in the morning, the night side will be on the right, rotating out of view, while the day side on the left will rotate into view.

Clocks can also be quite useful in crafting rooms, as you tend to lose track of time while crafting or shuffling through stored items. Thanks to their innate ability to keep track of time, clocks can be incredibly useful as decorations, just like they would be as inventory items.

4. Goat Horns

A goat horn is an item dropped by goats. It has eight variants, and each plays a unique sound when used, which can be heard by players in a large radius. Up to two horns can be dropped from an adult goat. Regular goats may drop the Ponder, Sing, Seek, and Feel horns, while screaming goats drop the Admire, Call, Yearn, and Dream horns.

A specific goat drops only one type of horn; if a goat drops a Sing horn, its other horn is also a Sing horn. Do you have a medieval dining hall in your castle? Toss in a goat horn on some item frames. Perhaps a Viking throne room or a classical armory?

Goat horns fit perfectly here as well, considering that horns were a popular battle implement throughout history to boost troop morale and signal commands. Goat horns will not fit into more modern builds, but they have a certain niche appeal in those builds centered around ancient times.

3. End Crystals

An end crystal is an item and an entity found in the End. As items, end crystals may be placed on bedrock and obsidian if the two blocks above the bedrock or obsidian block are air or replaceable blocks and no other entities intersect the area. When an end crystal is placed in the End, a fire block is created at the end crystal location.

Suppose four are placed on the end exit portal, one on each flat side. In that case, the crystals respawn the original end crystals on the obsidian pillars and resurrect the dragon itself before exploding. The top of each pillar also explodes, destroying any player-placed blocks.

End Crystals are perfect for more magic-oriented Minecraft builds or large sinister-looking structures. Place a crystal or two atop a tower or pyramid to make it look far more otherworldly. These items also look excellent when placed in an enchanting room, flanking an enchanting table.

The crystal as an item is crafted with the help of glass blocks, an Eye of Ender, and a ghast tear, where it can be kept in the player’s inventory. However, the End Crystal becomes a solid block when used as an item. This is similar to how boats can be carried as items and placed as blocks.

2. Glow Berries

Glow berries are food items that are collected from cave vines and can be used to plant them. Cave vines are a plant used to grow glow berries. Glow berries can be collected from a cave vine by using or breaking the vine. This yields one glow berry when the vine is bearing them and nothing when it is not.

A cave vine also breaks if water runs over its location or if a piston extends or pushes a block into its location. If you are building a Minecraft project with lots of greenery, glow berries are a natural fit. Furthermore, they even give off a small amount of light, offering relevant in-game utility as a light source.

Typically found in Minecraft’s lush cave biomes, glow berries naturally generate in block form, but can be consumed as food items when broken and picked up. Since they are items that transition to blocks when placed, like armor stands, boats, and End Crystals, they work considerably well as decorations.

To satisfy your hunger, you need to take glow berries in your hand and hold down the right mouse button. When the hunger scale is full, health begins to recover.

1. Leads

Leads are tools used to leash and lead passive and neutral animals, golems, and some monsters. The Main use of the lead is to tie horses up to keep them from running away, but any mob that the lead holds will do the same thing. Simply right-click the mob with the lead in hand, and you will “rope” the mob. While roped, the mob will follow you much like animals following a player with their desired food, i.e. pigs with carrots, sheep with wheat, and chickens with seeds.

Leads can even be attached between a mob and another block, making for some particularly curious builds that involve mobs swinging from roofing or other strange creations. Leads are primarily used to move mobs from one location to another in Minecraft.

So if you are looking for the recipe for making a Lead and what mobs can be moved with a lead, we have you covered in our Lead Guide below. Leads are great for moving mobs around. You do not need to have the mob tamed to move it; they will follow you as soon as you put the lead around their neck.
