Kecleon available in Pokémon Go for the first time following Chespin Community Day
While Pokémon from the Hoenn region have been available in Pokémon Go since 2017, the chameleon-like Normal type Kecleon has been the lone holdout, keeping players from completing that section of their Pokédex. That’s finally changing today, as Kecleon will be making appearances following the end of the Chespin Community Day event.
Chespin Community Day takes place from 2pm to 5pm local time. As has been reported in other regions, as soon as that event is finished, Kecleon should start popping up at various Pokéstops in your area. However, Kecleon works a little differently from other Pokémon – It’ll be hiding itself on various Pokéstops you find. You’ll have to spin the stop in order to shake Kecleon off and encounter it like normal.
It’s not clear why Niantic has chosen now to add Kecleon to the game, and they seem to have done so without much fanfare, but it’s exciting news nonetheless! Good luck catching one, trainers!
