Check Out the New ‘Heat’ Mechanic in

Every mainline entry of a fighting game always introduces something new to the established IP, and Tekken 8 won’t be any different.

Thanks to IGN, we have an in-depth look at the game’s Heat System which will allow players the choice to spend the energy in their first round or just wait to eat at the meter piece by piece during a battle. Check it:

We got to play about four hours of Tekken 8 and walked away extremely impressed. Here’s our first hands-on preview and impressions of Tekken 8, breaking down the Heat System, the new Classic Control scheme, and much more.

While Tekken’s formula had started out pretty basic, the developers have been introducing new elements with every mainline entry; even Tekken 6 introduced the Rage System which makes fighters more powerful when they’re at the last legs of their HP. We’ve yet to see more of this new Heat System yet, but based on what game critics are saying it could very well be an improvement to the franchise as a whole.
