Disney Dreamlight Valley DLC lets you boot unwanted villagers out of town
The houses for DDV’s villagers are vastly different, which is a good thing as it helps express the personality of its inhabitant. Yet it also means decoration plans can be vastly disrupted. Yes, technically one of the game’s key themes is the power of friendship, but it seems that friendship doesn’t always measure up to the decorating ideals some players have for their valley.
For other players, it’s not the houses that are the issue but the villagers themselves. Whether it’s the, uh, vocal part of their personality (Donald Duck’s temper tantrums were driving some people up the wall before an update shortened them) or the vocal part and the size of them (Maui would often get in the way and shout about how great he is) some villagers just don’t agree with some players. This left many with a fervent desire for a way to get rid of them, if only to make room for other favorite characters.
Gameloft has this to say about Ancient’s Landing, one of the new biomes in the expansion: “Breathe new life into it by rebuilding a marketplace or by moving your Villager’s homes over!” As for the other two biomes, Glittering Dunes and Wild Tangle, the devs add, “Expect to find new challenges and secret areas in each Biome — as well as plenty of space to transform them into a new home for you and your Villagers!”
This sounds promising for those of you who’ve been harbouring a grudge against certain villagers. Whether you’re wanting to offload the villains or just get rid of a certain someone, perhaps this expansion will hold the answer. It is a paid expansion, however, so hopefully a way to deal with the increasing number of characters will come with a free update in the future. In the meantime, A Rift in Time arrives on December 5. Don’t forget, too, that Disney Dreamlight Valley will no longer be free-to-play as was initially planned.
