After saving at the Wak-Wak tree our goal now is to reach the Upper Citadel. Head to the right first, to discuss with Orod about what you saw earlier when you found Menolias’ bow. The path ahead is blocked, so head back to the left and up the leaf platforms. We are gonna take the upper path back.
You will be beset by birds, so take them out and move on. In the next room, you can see a path upwards that is blocked so commit it to memory if you want as you will want to come back here.
Just to the left, in the pit you can pick up The Embrace of Athra, a lore item. Jump over to the right and slide through the gap and jump up and around to take out the spellcasters. Use a charge attack to take out the door and exit the area.
In the next room, use an arrow on the flower bud to activate a leaf platform and then jump across the spikes. Exit the area and do the same thing on the next flower buds to cross over. Replenish at the Athra tree and move on to the left. In the next room hit the flower bud on the top left with an arrow and jump up the leaf platforms.
Take out the shadow hedgehogs and then activate the next set of platforms with an arrow and jump upwards. This will take some timing, but its not that difficult.
From the top, activate the next set of platforms to the left and jump down for a time crystal.
Drop down the right here and go around again the way we came and when you get back on top, go to the right.
Keep moving upwards by activating more platforms, ultimately exiting the area on the left side. In the next area, activate the platforms and jump up as you won’t be making your way through the spikes. Take out the spear wielder and keep moving to the left.
Activate the next platform with an arrow and then jump on the higher platform. In the next bit, jump on to the pole and swing upwards and then right and head that way across the leaf platforms.
In this new area, go to the right and go up the platforms to find a Wak-Wak tree. If you head to the right and exit this area, you will find a new area – Soma Tree. You cant go further that way right now, so turn back the way we came and head to the left. Note that there is a secret room down here, that I couldn’t access during this time, so you can commit it to memory if you want.
In the next area, you will have a spell caster and a spear wielder ganging up on you. The spell caster can teleport so keep that in mind as you take him out with arrows. After the area is clear head to the top and then to the right.
After talking to Menolias, keep on moving with your new Chakram ability. Use it on the next obstacle to open the gate and step through. Exit this area and the Chakram on the next gear you see.
There is a collectible here on the top right, near the waterwheel which we can’t access so commit it to memory before moving to the left. Exit this area. In the next room grab the handholds and get up and keep heading up and to the right for another Wak-Wak tree. Next to which, you can find a collectible The Hunter and the Man-eater.
Drop down and head to the left and then wall jump on the higher platform. Take out the shield wielder and drop down to take out the enemy there for a time crystal.
The axe and spear guy will come into the room as you are clearing it so be mindful. Get back up on top and vault across the poles to take out the archer guy.
Go across and down the platform next to the archer. Then drop down again the next opening to find an Amulet holder upgrade.
Exit the area through the large door on the left, via the lever. In the next area take out the flying enemies with arrows. Drop down and head into The Haven. Talk to Fariba for a hint and upgrade equipment at the Mage. You can buy a Soma Tree Petal which would bring your count up to 3 of 24 in the game, as well an Amulet holder upgrade. You can access the blacksmith Kaheva through the portal on the left.
Kaheva can upgrade your weapons and amulets (Arash’s Arrowhead, Mount Damavand and Ecbatana Seal) and she sells amulets. You can also start the Quest: Ancient Power Unearthed by talking to her. You can go back to Artaban to complete the bow and chakram training if you want. After you are done here, exit the area through the left and keep going till you hit the quest marker.
Use your bow on the time anomaly to reconstruct the statue. This will update the main quest and open your path forward, so get up on the platforms and go right first to find Fariba, who will sell you the map for the Lower City area. After that exit the area through the left. You will come across your next Wak-Wak tree. Head up and read the sign for information on Jahandar, your next boss. Basically, he’s a manticore. Head up the stairs and up the grate and the next set of stairs to open the door to the boss arena.
Boss: Jahandar
He does a tail jab straight downward that cannot be parried. Run through the attack and get a few shots in early.
He flies up in the air and slams down hard. Follow his shadow to know where he is landing and dodge roll. This attack also causes debris to fall from the top.
He does a claw swipe that can be parried. So, parry this and get a few hits in.
He flies over to the other side of the screen and does a charge that can be Special parried. Watch the cool cutscene when you parry this move. This will stun him for a while, so get your hits in.
At 75% health Phase 2 will start and a small cutscene will play. He will fly off and land with a slam. He will create a ball of dark energy. Take it down with arrows as soon as possible as this will restrict your movable area by a lot.
He will do the same stab downwards move as earlier but this time it will create a pool of poison on the other side.
He does a tail swipe with 4 arrows that can be parried back at him.
That’s his entire repertoire, just dodge his moves and he should go down fast. Defeating him will start the new main Quest: The Abducted Prince. The reward will be a Soma Tree Flower and currency. Go to the right and you will receive the Time Power: Rush of the Simurgh. You can now air dash. Keep going right and air dash across the gap and onto the other side and then upwards and save your game at the Wak-Wak tree after talking to Artaban.
