Bethesda again confirms Elder Scrolls 6 is in development with devs playing “early builds”
Bethesda celebrates 30 years of The Elder Scrolls
The reassuring reconfirmation of The Elder Scrolls 6 being in development comes from Bethesda’s celebration of 30 years of The Elder Scrolls. “Yes, we are in development on the next chapter — The Elder Scrolls VI,” Bethesda says. “Even now, returning to Tamriel and playing early builds has us filled with the same joy, excitement, and promise of adventure.
Thank you again for supporting us all these decades, and all you have brought to the games, making them your own. We couldn’t be more excited to continue it and celebrate the next 30 years.”
It’s good to hear, again, that The Elder Scrolls 6 is in development, but it doesn’t change the unfortunate fact that it’s likely still years away according to court documents which surfaced as part of Microsoft’s battle with the US Federal Trade Commission. Indeed, Skyrim lead designer Bruce Nesmith says Todd Howard’s first confirmation of Elder Scrolls 6 might have happened earlier than originally planned because of “pitchforks and torches” from fans.
