Dracula Story – A rather enjoyable Atari XL/XE game via Grevle gets a 1.7 release

Here on Indie Retro News we do love writing about the Atari XL/XE, especially with fabulous games being mentioned such as the Prince of Persia port, and the previously released Auf Wiedersehen Monty enhanced. Thankfully there’s no let up in this greatness however, as thanks to another heads up from our good friend Saberman through Facebook, we’ve been told you can now try out the latest release of Grevle’s Arcade game of ‘Dracula Story’. To coincide with this story Saberman has also done a video of the new and final 1.7 version of the game.

Yes indeed welcome to another mention for the Atari XL/XE; A game that doesn’t just feature many different styles of gameplay such as jumping over nasty objects to attack enemies or turning into a bat to defeat an evil priest, but the game looks to be a nod to classic Atari 2600/7800 games with early 80’s graphics, sound effects and much much more.

VER 1.7 Dev Notes :

  • Still learning something, By switching the color data around in the girl player data then The heart above the girl is Red, That’s much nicer i think.  Heart above dracula stays the same since the heart is generated from the same color data as dracula has, so it’s a tradeoff. And dracula has a cold heart anyway!
