Chapter 4: A Treacherous Trail
Your group will now enter Sonnet Swamps. Head straight up and to the right. Kill the bugs on the Lilly pads. Head up through the gate that was just lowered. In the next area, talk to the snail Aubade.
Go up into the next area and start taking the bugs out. Humpgrump will release a goblin into the real world. Once you get to the portal, exit to the real world and kill the goblin that escaped earlier.
Head back to the book and enter the portal on the right side of the second page. Kill all the bugs here and the gate opens up. Go through and jump over the lily pads to pick up the key. Take it out of the page through the portal and head back to the first portal and enter the book again. Use the key to open the gate and head through.
Clear the platforming section on the next page. On the next page there will be a huge bug. Go to the left down the stairs and exit the page. Run over to the right side of the page and enter the book again. Pick up the word “Drained” from the word puzzle.
Enter the book again and pick up the word “Full” and exit the book and enter the book again through the portal on the right. Place “Full” on the word puzzle.
Walk over the lily pads and activate the switch. Go back and pick up “Full” again and enter the book and pick up “Drained” now. Bring it back and place it on the puzzle. This will remove the water from the moat. You can also see a new word puzzle now. Pick up “Open” from the puzzle now.
Bring back “Open” to the puzzle in front of the gate.
Pick up the word “Tiny” and throw it down. Drop down and pick up “Huge” and bring it back to this puzzle.
Place “Tiny” in the puzzle infront of the bug and it will scurry away opening up the path. Pick up “Huge” before you leave the page. Go into the next page and talk to Martina to buy any upgrades you need. In the next page clear the goblins on the right of the page. Now drop the word “Huge” on to the puzzle on the left.
Go across the now huge lilypad, and exit this page. On the next page, you will see a fish who needs your help. Go down the stairs on the left and go under the bridge to get to the fish. Complete the fish-catching mini-game and release it back in the water. Head back up to the bridge and exit the page. You will see the word “Daytime” on this page.
On the next page exit the page, turn back the page to this page with the word “Daytime” on it. Enter this page through the portal at the bottom and pick up “Daytime”.
Exit the page and turn the page around. Get back to the next page and replace “Night” with “Daytime”. Enter the left area, kill the bugs and push the block onto the pressure plate to pick up the word “Solid”. Go down and enter the area on the left and pick up the art scroll on the top.
Make it night again pick up “Solid” and go to the bridge. Replace “Broken” with “Solid”. Make it day again. Go to the block we pushed earlier and bring it to the path leading to the bridge. Make it night and place it behind the frog at the bottom.
Make it day again, exit the page and enter the page on the right side. Head across the bridge and enter the stairs on top. On the next page, drop down the portal at the bottom and enter the portal on the right side of the page and pick up the block there and come back to the portal on top of the moving platform.
Place the block on the pressure switch and cross to the other side. Clear this section and activate the switch at the bottom.
Go back to the portal near the block we placed earlier and bring it back to the switch on top of the page.
Jump down and exit the area. In the next area exit the page and you will be shown where the bow is. Run to the top end of the desk and you will see Minibeard. Go up the plastic card bridge and speak to Page. Now kill the bugs running around and then grab the block – there is an art scroll behind it. Move the block to the sticker saying “hey” and climb up. Kill the next couple of enemies and enter the sketch.
Please pick up the spring and bring it out. Jump on it and run to the left. Enter the sketch here and move upwards. Now zipline across the banner hanging to reach the other side.
Get to the castle door and kill all the bugs here – even in the sketch. Once that’s done, the gate in the left sketch will lower. Go up that sketch – and around to find the key. Get back to the central castle gate and use the key to go in. Go up the card bridge and etner the sketch to bring out the spring and exit on the other side.
Jump up to the left and loot the currency there. Go back down and jump off the spring to head to the right now. Enter the sketch here and avoid the falling rocks. You will be at the trading card for Alowynia.
Enter the card. A Pokemon style fight will break out. After a while, you can talk to Alowynia and she will gift you her bow. After that jump into the stick note and you will be back near your book. Enter the book and go into the nest. Play the shooting mini-game to take out the mosquitoes. Head out and enter the Snailford town. Speak to the mayor and head to the left.
Kill the bugs and place the block on the pressure switch and head through. Kill all the bugs here as well. Head back and move the block near the bottom with the two caskets. Pick up the word “Staircase” from the word puzzle in the middle and replace “Block” with it.
Go up the staircase and kill all the bugs here. Now pick up the word “Block” and place it in the word puzzle in the middle.
Exit the book through the portal on top and re-enter through the portal at the bottom. Now you can reach the final bug needed to get the book. Kill it and the gate will lower so you can pick up the book. Take it and exit the book through the portal at the bottom and reenter through the portal on the right. Now place the book on the marked floor.
Pick up the key and go to the right. Open the gate and head in. Kill the caterpillars that are summoned. The gate will now lower allowing you to pick up Vol 2. Bring it back to the center. The gate to the right will open up. Exit the area through that. Next, the boss will whisk your friends away so follow the path and you will come to the boss fight.
Take the boss out with your bow. Once the fight is over, head up and out of the swamp.
