Stardew Valley Ver. 1.6 update hits Switch Nov. 4th, 2024

The PC version of Stardew Valley was updated to Version 1.6 all the way back in March of this year. Fans on other platforms, Switch included, were curious as to when the console/mobile update would drop, and developer ConcernedApe kept telling fans it would take some time. Turns out the process took even longer than the dev expected, but now the end is officially in sight.

ConcernedApe has announced that Stardew Valley’s Ver. 1.6 update will hit mobile and consoles on November 4th, 2024. The dev followed up by telling fans he never expected the delay for this patch to take so long, but at least we now know when it’s coming.

As for the patch notes, we don’t have the specific rundown for Ver. 1.6 on console/mobile, but we can look to the PC version for some hints. We’ll be sure to share the complete patch notes when they become available, but here’s a handful of elements certain to crop up on Switch:

  • A new major festival
  • Two new mini festivals
  • A new environmental event
  • Hundreds of new lines of dialogue
  • A new end-game skill system
  • New crops, crafting items, furniture, and more
  • A new farm type: Meadowlands Farm
  • Multiple pets
