Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Phoenix Springs.

This is a point-to-point walkthrough that takes you through the critical path to completing the game. Phoenix Springs has a lot more to offer apart from the steps outlined in this walkthrough, so we highly recommend that you explore and interact with its world as much as possible.

Leo’s Home 2

Go back into Leo’s house as you did before. Interact with the panic room now.

Desert 2

As before, open the door of the train, go east, and when you reach the rocks that look like the half-obscured number ‘101’, use the lead Phoenix Springs on them.

Oasis 2

We now know that the heart of the oasis is the old tree beyond the gate. Go back to this tree by passing through the gate.

Approach the burnt tree and look at the Lift in the tree trunk. We learn that the lift door is stained with flour. Use the lift, which won’t get you anywhere, but is necessary.

After looking at and using the lift, go back out of the gate and make your way to the village where you found the Crying Girl before. Go right from here to the other side of the village.

Here, enter the cabin to the right of the yellow millstone, the one with the smoke coming out of the chimney.

Talk to the Baker inside this cabin and in conversation, use the lead Underground.

We get a new lead out of this. Now go all the way back to the Stone Steps between the orchard and the old tree with the squatting man.

Here, enter the tunnel and proceed through it to find the High Cabin. Go all the way up here to enter the cabin.

Inside, talk to the Musician and in conversation, mention the lead Baker Memory.

The Musician will play you Baker’s Ballad, which you will get as a lead, Baker Ballad.

You now need to use the lead Baker Ballad on the Baker to help him remember. However, Iris will typically forget how the ballad goes by the time she reaches the Baker.

So instead, you need to make Iris remember the ballad twice before she talks to the Baker. You can do this any time before you talk to the Baker, but you’d might as well do it before leaving the music room.

Simply use the lead Baker Ballad on Iris, and then do this one more time. Iris will remark that she remembers how it goes now.

Now return to Baker, talk to him, and use the lead Baker Ballad in conversation with him.

If Iris happens to forget the ballad, return to the High Cabin and mention the Baker Memory lead to the Musician in conversation.

Once you hum the Baker Ballad to the Baker, he’ll hightail it to the burnt tree. Follow him to the burnt tree now, past the gate.

Baker is standing at the lift entrance. Talk to him.

Underground

Once you’re down underground, go right to find Baker again. Talk to him.

This gives you a new lead (or well, an old lead): Mason.

Go right from here and you’ll find a giant screen. To the left is a headband, and to the right is a computer terminal.

Approach the terminal and then use the lead Mason on it. Then, use the headband to access Mason’s memories.

Once in, you need to remind Mason of leads in a specific order. The first lead is Mason, and the second is Phoenix Springs.

You’ll gain three new leads from this: Flood, Worksite, and Architect. The lattermost lead is most important here.

Exit the ‘conversation’ and return to the terminal. Use the lead ‘Architect’ on the terminal now to bring him out.

Use the headband again and this time, use these leads in order: Worksite, then Mason.

You’ll gain another lead here: Accident.

Now as before, go to the terminal and use Mason on it to bring Mason out. Once more, put on the headband.

Now use these leads in the exact order given here: Mason, Phoenix Springs, Architect, Accident, Rebirth, Reporter, Leo Dormer.

If you mess up the order, you’ll have to start from Mason again.

Once done, you’ll be looking down at the area from the top. Use the Water in the center of the room.

After this, use the lead Leo Dormer on Iris.

After the sequence, go right to exit the cabin and talk to the baker to end the game.
