About Mythical Driftwood
Mythical Driftwood is a type of wood you can use as a crafting component in the new crafting system. You access crafting through the Ancient Archives. You use Mythical Driftwood as a component in creating the following fishing rods:
Both of these require two Mythical Driftwood, alongside other components.
How To Get Mythical Driftwood
Mythical Driftwood is one of the more confusing wood items to acquire, because it’s not a type of item in itself, it’s a mutation, and one only available by fishing with a specific type of rod. Mythical Driftwood is Driftwood fished up by the Mythical Rod, gaining its special exclusive mutation. This mutation has a 30% chance to trigger on anything reeled in with the Mythical Rod.
So, unless you can find anyone willing to give you some, you have two options, you will need to spend 110,000C$ to buy the Mythical Rod from the Traveling Merchant, and hope to hook Driftwood with it, which can be tricky with its decent Luck stat. Alternatively, you can get hold of some normal Driftwood, and keep Appraising it, in hopes it will eventually get the right mutation. Both might take a while, and both are fairly expensive.
