RUMOR: Prominent leaker claims Switch 2 is on the black market
In 2024, we would get a Switch 2 rumor every few weeks or so, or maybe once a month. As we got into the second half of the year, it seemed like rumors were popping up more frequently. Fast-forward to the end of 2024 and things dialed up even further, which brings us to 2025. It almost seems like we have a leak/rumor every single day, and we’re kicking of this week with a wild one.
In the world of Apple leaks and rumors, one of the most prominent names is Kang. They have a proven track record over the years, and Apple fans turn to the insider for insight into what’s next. Now it seems Kang has used their connections to get a bit of information about Nintendo, and it’s a tidbit that will no doubt have the Big N quite distraught.
According to Kang, the Switch 2 has made its way onto the Chinese black market. With all the rumors swirling around concerning just how far along Switch 2 is and how soon it could launch, that does make it plausible that units are floating around out there somewhere in the ether. It may still seem far-fetched, but again, Kang’s track record was good enough for Apple to send the leaker a legal warning. In other words, Kang is the real deal when it comes to Apple leaks, so there’s reason to believe he could get some inside info on other hardware as well.
You’re not crazy if you thought you heard of Switch 2 black market talk elsewhere recently. There was indeed a few comments made by accessory manufacturer Genki concerning Switch 2, who also said the hardware was on the black market. They walked back those statements (and a number of others) a few days later, and some suspected they did so due to heat from the Big N.. Now we have Kang coming in and bringing up the same topic, which makes you think Genki’s people might have been telling the truth in the first place.
No matter what the case, you have to wonder just how much longer Nintendo is going to hold out before they finally reveal Switch 2. We know Nintendo always sticks to their guns and does things their own way, but when you have this much attention, leaks and inside info making the rounds, Nintendo must certainly be feeling the pressure.
