Nintendo paid the second-highest average salary in western Japan for 2024
Japanese business journal Diamond Online has released the latest installment of their yearly ranking of Japanese businesses in terms of salary. Turns out for 2024, Nintendo once again offered their employees quite substantial paychecks.
According to the report, Nintendo offered their employees the second highest average annual salary among companies in western Japan in 2024. This list includes all industries based in Japan’s Kansai region, minus Osaka.
Nintendo came in at an average annual salary of roughly $62k, based on recent conversation rates. Nintendo was beaten out by semiconductor manufacturer Screen Holdings, and Nintendo was the only entertainment company to land in the top 5. That said, Nintendo’s annual salary dropped by 2.3% as compared to the year prior. Diamond Online says this may be due to Nintendo’s drop in net sales (-5.5%) and operating profit (-14.9%) when compared to 2023.
