Part 1 (Market, Office, Crime Scene, Sewers)

After the opening titles and monologue, you’ll find yourself in an alley.

Turn left and talk to Jimmy, the bird in a suit.

Once the way’s clear, head through the hole that was behind the newspaper stand.

Turn right and go to the end of the corridor to meet Rudy. Exhaust your dialog options with Rudy and you’ll get a dollar.

Head back out and talk to Jimmy again to pay him. Then, approach the newspaper stand and interact with it to pick up an issue.

Return to Rudy and exhaust your dialog with him.

Using the on-screen instructions, open your location select screen and go to Albert’s Office.

Once there, go to the door at the end of the corridor to find Albert’s office proper. Examine the note on the door.

Enter the office. Here, you should pick up the flashlight on the floor to the left of the window, which will be useful later.

When ready, use the telephone to the right of the small door in the office. Use the telephone again after the first time.

Switch to the location select screen after the second call and go to the Crime Scene.

When you get to the warehouse district, go forward, then right to find an officer who is a hippo.

After talking to him, head past him, go forward, and talk to Officer Betty, who’s standing by a chain link gate.

Once the gate is open, head through and examine the covered body in the center of the warehouse.

Once you’re back in control, talk to Betty again. You should exhaust her dialog, but the important bit is to ask her about the basic facts, and then the witness.

After you’re done with Betty, turn right and talk to the flamingo, Francis.

After talking to him once, talk to him again and use the ‘Dance’ option.

Now open up your location select screen and go to the Dance Studio.

In this alley, go forward and then right past the garbage bin to find a fire escape ladder.

Interact with the ladder to bring it down and then interact with it again to climb up.

Once you’re done talking to Lily, bring up the location select screen again and go back to the Crime Scene.

Talk to Francis again and exhaust his dialog.

After this, go past him and interact with the manhole in the middle of the square area.

(If you didn’t pick up the flashlight in Albert’s office, go up the ladder and use the location select screen to go back to the office. The flashlight is located on the floor just left of the window).

Once you’re in the sewers with your flashlight, keep following the path until you see a closed bridge and a bridge lock to its right.

Look exactly opposite the bridge lock to find the wheel on the floor. Pick it up and put it on the bridge lock.

Cross the bridge and take a left through the passageway there.

Continue down the path until you reach another canal. Go left and turn the water wheel.

Turn right and go down the stairs into the drained canal, then up the stairs on the other side.

After going up the stairs, immediately turn right to find the bridge lock. Turn it and cross the bridge back to the water wheel.

Turn the water wheel to swap the water in the canals, and cross the bridge again to where you were before.

Go straight and down the stairs, through the newly drained canal.

Follow the path through its twists and turns until you reach a wooden plank bridge. Cross this bridge and follow the walkway to the end, where you’ll find a room with lots of barrels and some furniture.

Go left and into the back of the room to find a big machine. Interact with it.

This will initiate a combat sequence. Go right and bash the crocodiles with your attacks while putting up your defense when appropriate.

You’ll likely need several tries to get through this section, especially when it comes to beating the leader of the crocodiles, Scales.

After you get the key by defeating Scales, go through the locked chain link gate to the left of where you fought Scales.

Follow the path to find the gang’s headquarters.

Approach the gramophone and pick up the whiskey glass next to it.

Now talk to Manny the mantis and exhaust his dialog.

Approach the metal door behind Manny and interact with it, then talk to Manny again.

Open the door to find… another metal door. Repeat the above process (interacting with the door, then Manny) three more times to get past four doors.

Once you’re through, pick up the object on the round table.
