GDC to Host Animal Crossing Meets Improv Comedy Event

This year’s GDC will feature the first-ever GDC Nights, an after-hours event that is open to the public and designed to bring gamers, pop culture fans and the game development community together for two evenings of fun and casual activities and shows.

Within GDC Nights is an event Animal Crossing fans might be interested in checking out: Comedy Crossing LIVE. This is a unique stand-up comedy show where comedians perform live on stage while being puppeteered as Animal Crossing characters inside comedian Jenny Yang’s virtual comedy club that will be broadcast on a big screen.

The concept was created by stand-up comedian, TV writer and actor Jenny Yang during the early days of the pandemic when Animal Crossing New Horizons was a game that helped keep many people engaged with friends while isolating at home. This event will take place on Thursday, March 20 from 7:00 – 9:30pm in Moscone West Hall, Level 2, Room 2005.
