Every game hardware manufacturer puts their platforms through rigorous testing before releasing them to the public, but there’s simply no way to test everything and anything that might come up. Nintendo obviously put the Switch 2 through its paces before launching, but it appears one rather odd bug has managed to survive every test thrown at it.
As you’ll see play out in the video above, going to the amiibo option in the Switch 2 settings and performing a repeated action can lead to a bug. The good news is that it’s not something that you’ll likely find yourself doing, and your Switch 2 will be back to normal upon reset should you accidentally trigger this glitch.
If you go to the amiibo option in the Switch 2 settings and then repeated choose the “Enter Owner and Nickname” choice and then exit out, the Switch 2 will eventually display an error code. After that, you’ll have to restart your Switch 2 to get things working properly again.
As we said, this likely isn’t an error you’d encounter through normal use of the Switch 2 and it doesn’t cause any permanent damage. Now that the news will no doubt make its way to Nintendo, you can expect to see this bug take care of whenever the Switch 2 receives its next firmware update.
