Shantae is getting an upgrade — and a release! Independent game studio WayForward is elated to announce that the Switch version of Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution is launching today!
For a few extra gems, the Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution Deluxe Edition adds three exclusive costumes (not sold separately) that change Shantae’s appearance and enhance her abilities: the Relic Hunter Costume powers up Pike Ball attacks, the High Voltage Costume powers up Storm Puff attacks, and the Sizzle Armor Costume powers up Fireball attacks.
Originally developed for Game Boy Advance and now heading to modern hardware with HD character portraits and illustrations, Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution pits Shantae the Half-Genie against nefarious pirate Risky Boots, whose twisted new scheme threatens to shake Sequin Land to its very core. Using Shantae’s trademark hair-whip attacks, creature dance transformations, and a variety of useful items, players will explore multilayered levels, overcome challenging foes, and rearrange the land itself to turn the tectonic tables on Risky.
Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution will be the sixth game released in the multi-million-selling Shantae series (following beloved titles such as Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, and Shantae and the Seven Sirens), and the second game chronologically, taking place between the original Shantae (2002) and Shantae: Risky’s Revenge (2010).
