Reunion release date, trailer, and more

It’s finally happening. My hype for the new Life is Strange game has been through the roof, and now that it’s finally here, my excitement is ten times higher – Life is Strange: Reunion is answering all of our prayers by bringing back our favorite blue-haired punk, Chloe Price. She was famously absent in Double Exposure, breaking the hearts of fans worldwide, but Deck Nine looks to be rectifying that, and you don’t have to wait.

The hints at Chloe returning in a subsequent game were certainly there, particularly if you went with the Bae ending, in which you saved Chloe – naturally, my canon is that she and Max were a couple. Double Exposure feeds you little tidbits, though you might overlook them or not pay too much attention, given that the game itself certainly isn’t the best in the series.

However, my hopes for a return to form with Life is Strange: Reunion are pretty high; bringing back Chloe and reuniting the Partners in Time can only be a benefit, especially after the immense disappointment many felt at her absence last time around. Still, it seems that it was always the plan to bring Chloe back, as we got confirmation of another LiS game after finishing Double Exposure, with the words ‘Max Caulfield will return’ looking at you, and Chloe even sends Max a text (if she’s alive).

Here’s everything you need to know about Life is Strange: Reunion:

When is the Life is Strange: Reunion release date?

The Life is Strange: Reunion release date falls on March 26, 2026, meaning its launch is just two months after its official reveal – we love it when you don’t need to wait another two years after learning about a game.

Is there a Life is Strange: Reunion trailer?

Yes, there is an official Life is Strange: Reunion trailer you can watch, and to say it’s exciting is an understatement. It gives you a nice look at what to expect, while raising some questions you’re absolutely going to want answers to.

What are the Life is Strange: Reunion platforms?

Life is Strange: Reunion is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and you can already pre-order the game on your preferred platform. If you’re a die-hard fan of the franchise, particularly Pricefield (like I am), you can even pick up the collector’s edition from the official Square Enix store.

If you enjoy playing games on Steam’s PC handheld or other hardware like the Asus ROG, you might be wondering whether or not LiS: Reunion will be Steam Deck verified. At the moment, the game has ‘unknown’ under its verification status. However, as Double Exposure is ‘playable’, the chances are that’ll also be the case for Reunion – we’ll let you know as soon as Deck Nine or Square Enix confirms its Steam Deck status.

Is Life is Strange: Reunion coming to Nintendo Switch 2?

As you can see from the answer above, Life is Strange: Reunion doesn’t have the Nintendo Switch 2 as one of its available platforms yet. However, that’s not to say that you won’t get to enjoy the conclusion to Max and Chloe’s story on the hybrid console at some point. It’s worth noting that all the current Life is Strange games are on Nintendo Switch, though the most recent ones, True Colors and Double Exposure, didn’t release on the console day one.

So, with that in mind, it’s possible that a Switch 2 announcement for Reunion may come at a later date, due to it not being a day-one platform. It’s still best to temper your expectations, though, at least until Square Enix and Deck Nine make an official announcement.

What is the Life is Strange: Reunion story?

Reunion is a direct sequel to Double Exposure, and, as the name suggests, it features the return of one of the most beloved characters in the franchise: Chloe Price. Regardless of whether or not you chose to save Chloe, the blue-haired punk is back, thanks to Max merging the parallel timelines in Double Exposure. However, the crucial bay or bae choice, along with whether the girls are just friends or lovers, plays a vital role in Reunion.

It’s going to be like stepping back in time, as Max once again has the power to rewind, just like she did in the original game, and while it’s not a storm threatening to destroy an entire town, Caulfield still faces some tough decisions as she fights to prevent a fire from destroying Caledon and killing her friends.

Of course, it’s not just about Max, but Chloe, too, who you also get to play as in Reunion, making this the first time these ladies are playable protagonists together. Chloe is a band manager, but events bring her back to Max, and the pair must work together to save Caledon. Each woman brings something different to the table, as one may go where the other can’t, and Max’s powers are even stronger than before, allowing her to not only travel back in time through a Polaroid, but stay there and start over, as it were – that has some heavy implications for decisions you may have to make.

Max and Chloe’s relationship is to be the most crucial part of the story, and I’m begging for a happy ever after option for the two of them – I destroyed a town, Deck Nine, don’t think I won’t let a university burn down to keep Pricefield together.
