First announced in February 2024, open-world Adventure JRPG Sea Fantasy is now out on Android. Developed by Metasla and published under the banner of YoshiyukiNakashima on mobile, the game launched on other platforms in January 2026.
Sea Fantasy is a fishing game, but…
It’s not fish that you’re fishing for. Rather, it’s mysterious marine organisms known as Sea’Az. The game follows two young men who set out to save their world by hunting down these creatures.
They inhabit oceans and lakes across the game’s setting. They vary widely in appearance, size and rarity, and you can catch every single one of them if you focus.
Sea Fantasy has a system called Gauge Action. Landing a catch depends on stopping a moving bar within a designated Hit Area or Critical Area at the right moment to deal damage. You must continue inflicting damage until the Sea’Az’s HP is reduced to 0.
The progression depends on the partnership between Rod and Axel. Rod handles the fishing itself, along with stripping materials from captured Sea’Az. Axel, meanwhile, deals with obstacles, enemies and environmental challenges that block the pair’s path. You can switch control between the two.
Exploration expands as the story advances. You eventually obtain a ship that lets you freely get on and off and travel across a vast pixel world. The map includes multiple islands and distinct locations. You can revisit islands to uncover treasures and additional activities.
The progression is linear, with no mandatory grinding required for those confident in their skill. Grinding remains optional, and difficulty spikes are largely absent.
Sea Fantasy offers combat, puzzle-solving, and other minigames as well. Also, in some cases, the Sea’Az fight back directly, so that makes things more exciting. You can check out this pixel open-world action RPG on the Google Play Store.
