Sumerian Six – on Xbox and PlayStation today

A squad of scientists. Nazi occult experiments. And a mission to stop a supernatural weapon before it reshapes history. Sumerian Six has now deployed onto Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, bringing its unique blend of tactical stealth and alternate-history madness to consoles.

Developed by Artificer and published by Crunching Koalas in partnership with Devolver Digital, Sumerian Six sees players commanding an unusual strike team – the Enigma Squad – a group of brilliant scientists turned covert operatives.

Their goal? Infiltrate Nazi strongholds, sabotage occult experiments, and prevent a dark future powered by a mysterious substance known as Geiststoff.

We don’t half think this one is going to be good. In fact, we included it in our Best Games of March article. Hype!

A Squad Of Scientists Behind Enemy Lines

Sumerian Six drops players into an alternate version of World War II, where scientific breakthroughs and ancient myths collide.

You’ll command the Enigma Squad; a team of six specialists whose knowledge ranges from chemistry to psychology and beyond. Each member brings a unique skillset into the field, allowing players to approach missions with creative strategies and coordinated stealth tactics.

Among the characters joining the fight are:

  • Rosa Reznick, a brilliant chemist capable of concocting deadly compounds
  • Wojtek Galica, a powerful mutant known as The Werebear
  • Siegfried von Adelsberg, an esoteric psychoanalyst with unusual abilities

Working together, this unusual team must infiltrate enemy territory and dismantle the growing threat of Nazi supernatural experiments.

Tactical Stealth And Creative Strategy

At its core, Sumerian Six is a real-time tactical stealth game, drawing inspiration from classic squad-based strategy experiences.

Each mission challenges players to sneak through heavily guarded areas, carefully observing enemy patrols and finding the perfect moment to strike. Guards can be eliminated in numerous ways, and the true strength of the game lies in combining each squad member’s abilities.

Chain attacks, distractions and coordinated takedowns allow players to eliminate enemies efficiently and silently. At least, provided the plan goes smoothly. Of course, if things go wrong, the consequences can be swift.

Nazis, Occult Weapons And Ancient Mysteries

The central threat of Sumerian Six revolves around Hans Kammler, a former member of the Enigma Squad who has defected to the Nazi cause.

Now leading dangerous occult experiments, Kammler seeks to harness the power of a mysterious substance called Geiststoff, combining science and ancient Sumerian artifacts to create devastating supernatural weapons.

As the story unfolds across multiple continents, players will encounter mutated enemies, experimental technology and eerie mythological elements woven into the war effort.

It’s a strange and compelling mix of historical warfare, conspiracy theories and supernatural horror.

Stop The Dark Timeline

Previously available on PC, Sumerian Six now brings its tactical stealth gameplay to console players.

If the Enigma Squad fails, the consequences could reshape the future. If they succeed, they might just stop one of the strangest threats World War II has ever faced.

Sumerian Six is available now on Xbox Series X|S (Xbox Store) and PlayStation 5 (PlayStation Store), priced at £24.99.
