With Toy Story: Retro Roundup! and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition, classic Toy Story games have been reborn for fans as only Digital Eclipse is capable, with games carefully updated for modern platforms and supported by bonus content that takes you behind the scenes” said Ethan Stearns, VP of Games at Atari.

A Modern Return For Toy Story 3

For many players, the headline attraction will be Toy Story 3 Complete Edition, which brings the acclaimed 2010 adventure back to modern platforms for the first time.

Widely regarded as one of the strongest movie tie-in games ever released, Toy Story 3 stood out thanks to its excellent Story Mode and the hugely popular Toy Box Mode, an open-ended sandbox that encouraged creativity, exploration and experimentation.

This new edition includes visual enhancements, improved performance and previously platform-exclusive content that wasn’t available in every version of the original release. Players can once again swap between Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie throughout the campaign, while local co-op also returns.

Those who remember the original fondly may recall just how impressive Toy Box Mode felt at the time. In fact, we looked back at the game in a retrospective piece, highlighting how it managed to become much more than a standard movie adaptation thanks to its freedom, charm and ambitious design.

Retro Roundup Brings The Classics Back

Alongside the remaster comes Toy Story: Retro Roundup!, a collection built around some of the most memorable Pixar and Toy Story games from the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The package includes the original Toy Story game from 1995, Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue!, Toy Story Racer, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command and several other classic releases, many of which have been difficult to access on modern hardware for years. A Bug’s Life is also included as a bonus addition.

Digital Eclipse will also be applying its now familiar preservation treatment, adding quality-of-life features such as rewind functionality, save states, practice modes, cheat options and enhanced visual presentation. Players can also choose to experience certain titles with their original visual style intact for a more authentic retro feel.

As expected from a Digital Eclipse project, the package goes beyond simply making old games playable again.

Retro Roundup includes a wealth of archival material, featuring new interviews, development history, rare imagery and video documentaries exploring both the films and the games that helped bring Pixar’s characters into the interactive world. A dedicated music player is also included, featuring soundtracks from across the collection.

It’s the kind of museum-style presentation that has become Digital Eclipse’s trademark, turning game preservation into something that feels as valuable as the games themselves.

We’re excited for players to jump back into Toy Story 3 and experience the creativity, humor and heart that makes Toy Story such a landmark franchise,” said Mike Mika at Digital Eclipse. “Toy Story 3 is celebrated as one of the great movie-to-game adaptations ever made, and it has been an absolute pleasure to rediscover.

October Can’t Come Soon Enough

With Toy Story celebrating its 30th anniversary, these releases feel like a fitting way to mark the occasion. Whether you’re revisiting Toy Story 3’s excellent sandbox mode or diving back into some of the franchise’s earliest gaming adventures, October 15th is shaping up to be a nostalgic date for Disney and Pixar fans.

Both Toy Story: Retro Roundup! and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition launch on October 15th, 2026 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
