Developed and published by FreeMind, Pool Cleaning Simulator has already spent more than two years on PC, having launched on Steam in June 2024. It now makes its way to Xbox Series X|S, bringing its particular brand of scrubbing, spraying and general pool-based muck removal to console.

Think PowerWash Simulator, But Bring Your Swimsuit
If the words ‘cleaning simulator’ immediately make you think of PowerWash Simulator, you’re certainly not barking up the wrong tree.
Pool Cleaning Simulator follows a similarly satisfying formula. Rather than blasting grime from driveways, garden furniture and increasingly bizarre locations, however, your attention is firmly focused on pools. And some of them are going to need rather more than a quick skim of the surface.
You’ll take on the role of a professional pool cleaner, working your way through neglected swimming pools and turning them into sparkling places that people might actually want to jump into.
That means scrubbing, cleaning and maintaining pools with a collection of dedicated tools, while dealing with different environments and the challenges that come with them. The game promises everything from luxurious residential pools surrounded by gardens to much larger commercial swimming complexes.
Every Pool Has A Problem
The appeal here is much the same as other cleaning games – you start with a mess and gradually make it disappear.
Pool Cleaning Simulator adds some variety through its different locations and changing conditions. Weather can shift while you’re working, with everything from bright sunshine to rain potentially affecting the experience.
There’s also progression to keep things moving. As you work through your career, you can unlock new tools and equipment, allowing you to become more efficient at dealing with the increasingly demanding jobs.
It’s not exactly glamorous work, but there is something strangely compelling about watching a disgusting pool slowly become something you’d actually consider swimming in.
A Different Kind Of Cleaning Fix
The obvious comparison is PowerWash Simulator, and it’s a comparison worth making because that game proved just how enjoyable the simple act of cleaning virtual objects can be.
We’ve already taken a look at both PowerWash Simulator and PowerWash Simulator 2 in our reviews, and Pool Cleaning Simulator is clearly swimming in the same general waters. The difference is that FreeMind has narrowed the focus considerably.
Two Years Of Pool Cleaning Comes To Xbox
Pool Cleaning Simulator isn’t arriving completely fresh. The PC version has been available on Steam since June 2024 and currently sits at Mixed user reviews. That makes the Xbox release an interesting opportunity for a game that has already had plenty of time to establish its particular take on the cleaning simulator formula.
For Xbox players who enjoy their games a little slower, a little tidier and perhaps slightly more chlorinated, there could be something rather relaxing about it.
