Susan’s Search Leads Into Another Nightmare
The story follows Susan, whose daughter has disappeared inside an isolated residence beneath Mount Etna. A mysterious clue gives her reason to believe there could still be hope, sending her into a decaying villa filled with hidden rooms, disturbing memories and dangerous Stalkers.
What begins as a desperate search soon becomes something considerably more sinister. Susan must investigate the residence, uncover clues and solve puzzles while piecing together the history of the Red Nun and the secrets surrounding her own family.
A Little More Fight In The Fight For Survival
Red Nun’s Legacy isn’t simply about running and hiding. Susan will have access to limited melee weapons, giving her a chance to push back when escaping isn’t an option.
She can also use a collection of hypnosis abilities to manipulate her surroundings and uncover things that would otherwise remain hidden. Retrocognition, mirror-based abilities and moth manipulation all form part of the new mechanics, adding another layer to exploration and puzzle solving.
Classic Horror With A Modern Touch
Stormind Games is looking to push Red Nun’s Legacy as a modern take on classic third-person survival horror. Exploration, puzzles and resourceful play remain at its heart, while the new perception and hypnosis systems add something different to the formula.
The atmosphere is also being supported by some familiar names from the wider horror world. Cissy Jones provides the voice of Susan, while Maggie Robertson, known for her role as Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village, voices the Red Nun.
The soundtrack is being handled by Akira Yamaoka, the legendary composer best known for his work on the Silent Hill series.
The Red Nun’s Story Comes To An End
The latest announcement follows Stormind Games’ reveal of Red Nun’s Legacy earlier this year, where the developer confirmed that the game would serve as the final chapter of the Remothered saga.
Now we know when that story will continue. Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy launches on October 27th, 2026 for PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S (there’s an Xbox Store page up if you want to give it a look), giving horror fans a suitably creepy reason to stay indoors as Halloween approaches.
