Region Break checks out the many differences in Legend of Zelda on the NES & Famicom

Plenty of Famicom games went through radical changes in their transition to the West. Even Nintendo’s own titles got major makeovers from time to time. The North American version of Super Mario Bros. 2 is one of the most notable examples, but plenty of other first party titles went through numerous revisions and tweaks before localization.

One example of localization differences from Nintendo is the original Legend of Zelda. Unless you’re an expert on this topic, you’re sure to learn a whole bunch of info you never knew. That was certainly the case for me!
