How to Defeat the Jadeplume Terrorshroom in Genshin Impact
The Jadeplume Terrorshroom was the first Dendro world boss that was introduced in the game alongside the release of the fourth region called Sumeru. It is the lord of fungal beasts that lives in the heart of the woods and in the company of its kin. Given time, this proud-looking bird-like beast might evolve into something yet more magnificent.
Contents
It was believed that over many long years, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom has morphed into a unique form. And that its intelligence has already reached and perhaps has even surpassed real animals, and it will actively hunt prey to obtain sustenance. Its tail has a lovely jade plumage that seems very similar to that of the ancient sacred beast that the Spantamad School reveres.
This magnificent king amongst Fungi has been leisurely pacing on the finish line of evolution. Now and then, it emits a long call to all the living beings in the rainforest: Even the most helpless and timid creature may one day become the monarch of the woods.
Location
The Jadeplume Terrorshroom can be found northwest of Vissudha Field in Sumeru. You may follow the icon on the map but it is not that easy to find on your first visit because this monster’s lair is actually located in an underground cave.
Go to the spot in the map where the icon of the beast has been marked. In the area, which is south of the mountain, you will find an opening that leads to a small area with a lot of Fungi. At its center will be a large Bouncy Mushroom, which you need to jump on to send you up to the Void Sphere above. This will send you teleported to the underground cave where you will find the Jadeplume Terrorshroom.
However, in its Normal State, the Bouncy Mushroom can only send you up to a certain height which is not enough to get to the Void Sphere. For the mushroom to have a stronger bouncing power, you need to hit it with an Electro Attack.
Special Mechanics
The Jadeplume Terrorshroom has three states: Normal, Activated, and Scorched. Of course, at the beginning of the battle, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom is in Normal state by default and the other two states may or may not be triggered during the said battle. The reason is that in order for the other states to be triggered, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom needs to be hit with certain elemental attacks.
Fury Bar
By default, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom will have a fury bar close to its HP bar. This meter will be filled by 2% every time this monster gets hit with an Electro attack. When the Dendro Elemental Reactions Quicken, Aggravate, or Spread are triggered on it, the fury bar will be filled by 15%. However, if Pyro attacks hit the Jadeplume Terrorshroom, the Fury bar level will be reduced by 34%.
When the fury bar reaches 100%, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom will enter its Activated State, where it will perform one of the Activated Stat Attacks and then fall down and become paralyzed for 15 seconds. While paralyzed, this boss monster will have its resistance reduced. See Elemental Resistance section for more information.
If Pyro is used against the Jadeplume Terrorshroom and the Burning Elemental Reaction has been triggered and inflicted upon it while in the Normal State, this monster will enter its Scorched State.
Elemental Resistance
The Jadeplume Terrorshroom has 25% resistance to Physical Damage, as well as all other Elements except Dendro. For the same elements, this world boss is 80% stronger against it. This means that using Dendro while the Jadeplume Terrorshroom is in its normal state is not the best idea.
However, when stunned or paralyzed, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom’s resistance to Dendro will be reduced to 55%, while against Physical and all other elemental attacks will be reduced down to 0%. With this in mind, it is best to avoid using Dendro attacks when facing this Dendro type boss enemy.
Attack Abilities
Normal State Attacks
Triple Strikes
This is the most basic attack of this monster and is a combo of three melee strikes. With this, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom will perform a sweeping strike and a downward slam with its beak, and then follow it with a jumping slam using its talons.
During the jumping attack, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom will imbue itself with Dendro aura. Each beak strike deals 80% damage and the talon slam deals 100%, and these damages are AOE Dendro.
Dendro Missiles
For this move, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom will face sideways and swing its tail to shoot a few Dendro projectiles from it.
Each projectile deals 30% Dendro damage. This attack can be performed up to 3 times consecutively, meaning you should be prepared to dodge up to three times to avoid getting hit.
Exploding Dendro Cloud
This move will start with the Jadeplume Terrorshroom shaking its feather to spread Dendro particles from its body and create some sort of cloud.
It will then click its beak three times to ignite the Dendro cloud which will cause an explosion. The explosion will deal 50% Dendro AOE damage and will send player flying.
Activated State Attacks
Rain of Dendro Orbs
For this attack the Jadeplume Terrorshroom will charge to imbue itself with Dendro energy and then crow to send out countless Dendro projectiles to the players.
During the barrage of projectiles, you just need to keep moving to avoid getting hit.
Stomping Charge
This move is performed with the Jadeplume Terrorshroom imbuing itself with Dendro energy and then charging towards the player while stomping violently along the way.
The monster will do this two times and the attack will deal 120% Dendro damage upon hit.
Furious Pecks
For this move, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom will angrily and aimlessly swing its beak four times, with each swing dealing 120% Dendro damage when it hits.
As mentioned above, after the Jadeplume Terrorshroom performs one of these Activated State Attacks, it will collapse and become vulnerable for 15 seconds and have its resistances reduced.
Scorched State Attacks
Fungi Summoning
When in the Scorched State, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom will charge up and shoot three Dendro orbs that will explode a few seconds after hitting the ground.
Following the explosion, Floating Dendro Fungi will appear to assist the Jadeplume Terrorshroom in battle, and a maximum of 4 Fungi can exist simultaneously.
After completing the summoning of Fungi, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom return to its Normal State.
