‘DELETE AFTER READING’ Joins Strange Kids to Save a Rare Game

DELETE AFTER READING sees you meeting ghostly, goblin-y, rabbit-y pals and going on a mission to save a game from a rich, selfish billionaire.

The creators of Unmemory have created another narrative-driven game filled with humor and mischief while still keeping aspects of mystery and wonder. In this title, you are a school-aged kid who has had a really bad day. Despite your rough day, something strange and interesting did happen on your way home from school. You discovered a weird walky-talky-like machine that seems to need a code to turn on. It also looks like an animal ran under your feet and then into a new hole in your wall. Today just keeps getting stranger.

in it, you can click on various words to progress the text. However, images also appear that you must interact with (and solve puzzles in) so that you can progress the story further. Once you do break into this walky-talky, you will discover a bunch of kids just like you. Well, apart from the fact that one’s a ghost, another a goblin, another a rapper. Your mission with these strange characters? You need to steal a video game back from a billionaire who doesn’t like to share, basically, so that everyone else in the world can enjoy it.

This mix of text on a white background, and then cartoon-ish pictures that are vibrant and interactive, makes for an interesting story. I love the escape room elements, the little hints and details, and the fact that I can scroll up and see everything that has happened thus far at any time. I really enjoyed Unmemory, so I am not surprised that I have had a good time with DELETE AFTER READING. It feels less intense than the previous game – full of so much uniqueness, but also relatability, that it just pulls you in.

DELETE AFTER READING is slated to release on March 14, but in the meantime, you can add it to your Steam Wishlist.
