Chapter 4: The Top of the World
As you gain control of Mimi, head out of the cave and re-enter the house. Go to the kitchen once you’re inside, because it’s time to make some tea. Interact with the stovetop to start making tea.
Letter: There’s a letter on the tabletop, just below where the cans of tea are kept.
As usual, follow the on-screen instructions to make tea. You can choose any mug and any kind of tea you like.
Once you’re done, head upstairs from the staircase and go to the door on the far left (the one that Nora had formerly exited). Grab the key above the door and follow the prompts to unlock the door and enter the attic.
Letter: In the attic, go to the bookshelf that is immediately next to the stairs leading down. There’s a letter wedged among the books here.
Interact with the keypad on the sofa to find that you need a code.
The hint for the keypad is located above the display, showing you small square icons that represent four seasons. Exit the keypad screen and go to the top-left of the screen, where you can interact with the handle that controls the toy train bridge.
Go through the gap created by the bridge and interact with the area in the very corner there to find some tapes that need to be arranged properly in their case. By arranging them in order (Summer – Fall – Winter – Spring), you will learn the code that you need.
Once you’ve entered the code, which is 7245, interact with the stopped train to gain a recorder. Follow the instructions to connect the headphones and mic to the recorder and then play it, which will take you to the past again.
When you regain control of young Mimi, you can start collecting things.
Word: You’ll find the word “Secrets” on the floor to the lower-left of the screen, where the train tracks make a curve.
Tape: Go left from where you found the word “Secrets” to find a tape. It’s on a box to the left of the train tracks.
Sticker: Go to the turntable to find a sticker. This is located to the left of the train tracks, but north from where you found the tape and the word.
Sticker: From the turntable, go to the right of the train tracks to find a sticker in a cardboard box.
Finally, interact with the keypad on the sofa and then the recorder on the train (which is between the bridge and the tunnel).
You can now capture sounds with the tape recorder. It works a lot like how you take pictures with the camera, except this time you have to keep an ear out for unique sounds.
Begin by capturing the sound of the toy train.
While you’re there, you can take pictures with your camera as well. Once you exit the screen, you’ll enter a cutscene.
After the cutscene, you’ll find yourself in the garden. Enter the cave here to help Nora fix the kayak, but first, let’s pick up some collectibles.
Tape: There is a tape on top of the barrel to the right of the screen.
Sticker: A little further back from the barrel on the right of the screen, you’ll find a sticker lying on the ground.
Word: Approach the workbench to find the word “Shiny”.
Talk to Nora after this to start fixing the kayak. Follow the on-screen instructions to apply glue and attach the wooden planks to the broken sections. Then, paint the kayak and leave your hand prints on it.
After this, you find yourself at the river. Before getting on the kayak, head over to the center of the river (where you took pictures in Chapter 2), and pull out your recorder to capture a couple of sounds.
Sound: The water of the river.
Sound: The hot air balloons in the sky.
Once you’ve collected these two (and any pictures you might want to take), head over to Nora and get on the kayak. Follow the instructions to row your kayak through the river, and you’ll find the beach Nora mentioned earlier. It’s marked by a red exclamation mark, so you can’t miss it.
After a brief cutscene, follow the on-screen instructions to get up and get a location sticker.
Sticker: You’ll find this one just north of the kayak, to the right of Nora.
Pick up the picnic basket and take it back to Nora. This gives you a new objective: to grab the cutlery items that fell into the river. Begin by going to the bush to the right of the beach, where Mimi can change her clothes. Then, head into the water.
Sticker: Go to the far bottom of the screen, swimming around the rocks blocking your way. You’ll find the sticker just south of the rocks.
Now swim around the river and look for the water ripples where you can dive down and grab the cutlery you’re missing. Do this until you’ve go all the cutlery items. Note that one of the ripples will be far in the back of the river, i.e. to Nora’s left.
Return to Nora once you’re done for a cutscene. After this, go back to the bushes to change and then head into the woods by going north from the beach.
Here you will climb a mountain, which is fairly straightforward because you have on-screen instructions guiding you onward. Just follow the way forwards to go up the mountain.
Word: You’ll find the word “Queen” when you enter this area and approach the white wall of rock.
Word: You’ll find the word “Bird” when you scare off a flock of birds by sliding down a slope. Can’t miss it.
Word: You’ll find the word “Peaceful” when at the lookout point just a little ways up from the slope where you scared off the birds.
Word: You’ll find the word “Scared” far to the right from the lookout point. The word is near some bushes underneath wooden beams fixed into the mountain. To access it, you have to drop down from where the wooden beams are, instead of jumping across them.
Word: You’ll find the word “Funny” to the right of the wooden beams.
Word: You’ll find the word “Amazing” just after you cross the vine. Can’t miss it.
Word: You’ll find the word “Height” on the final rocky platform before you climb up to the summit.
Once Mimi gets to the top of the mountain, you get a cutscene to watch. After the cutscene is done, once again change your clothes behind the bushes and dive into the river. Head over to the ripples in the river and dive in to find the bag that the thief threw down.
Talk to Nora after you’re done. You’ll return to the riverbanks the same way you came – by the kayak. Once you’re back at the house, Mimi will pull out the bag given to her by the thief.
Follow the on-screen instructions to undo the bag and pull out all of the items inside. Your goal is to attach the given stickers onto the map.
While this can be deduced with some logic (the woman, for eg. is Nora, and goes where Nora’s house is located), it is really much easier to compare the shapes of the stickers with the shapes of the empty spaces on the map. Every sticker has a unique shape, so you can’t go wrong. When you place a sticker correctly, it will take up all the space of its slot, so that way you know when you get it right.
After this, we have to find out where the thief’s hideout is. Connect the ‘balloon’ sticker (upper-left) to the ‘rocks’ sticker (lower-right). Then, connect the ‘boat’ sticker (lower-left) with the ‘thief’ sticker (upper-right). Then, select the intersection of the two lines to find out where the thief’s lair is.
Once you’ve figured this out, go to the tree to the right of Nora’s house. Communicate with the thief by following the on-screen instructions and then create your binder page to complete this chapter.
