Train mod at Tale of Immortal Nexus

About this mod

A meme mod that replaces the dragon soul upgrade in VII (Soul Formation) with a train.

The collision box should be the same as the original, only the graphic and sound are changed.

This took me way too long to create as a one-line gag.

The main reason is that I didn’t want to touch the original collision box, or some of the extra effects. And I didn’t quite know how to rebuild them using the dev’s Ability Effects creation method. So I coded a way to replace just the dragon picture on the fly.

Then I had to make it flip upside down depending on which direction the ability was cast from, becasue I guess that somehow wasn’t accounted for.

But it works!

Gameplay:
    Shouldn’t change.

If you see the ability cast after only 2 special skills:
The original game is bugged, yeah.
If you see the ability hit WAY out from where the train is:
Dragon does the same thing. It has a silly large hitbox, but not quite full screen.

Mod affects:
This modifies the sound (imported with dev’s own AB system), and ability picture (loaded dynamically by me), but not the collision box.

Mod removability:
If you disable the mod, it should show up as a dragon as normal.

Your save might complain at you that you’re missing mods, but it will still load. And I think you can squelch its complaints.

Testing:
Repeatedly tested until it worked. Then used my main save. Saved, and reloaded the game with mod disabled. Nothing broke.

As for this project, I open sourced it when uploading to steam workshop.
As per the mixkit license, I’m not including the raw sound file, but only an already-combined one.
I’m also not making any money off of this. It’s just for fun.
