RETRO

Play almost ANY RETRO games on the QUEST 2! // Quest 2 Emulation is CRAZY!

The Quest 2 is obviously built for playing VR games, engaging in social experiences and even working but it’s also an extremely competent emulator for retro games (and even some games that aren’t so retro). That’s right, native Quest 2 emulation is pretty damn sweet, today I’m having a look at SNES, Gameboy Advance, N64, PS1, Gamecube & Wii games all running natively on the Quest 2 thanks to Retroarch and Dolphin. The great thing about Quest 2 emulation is how simple it is to set up, just sideload the APK version of your chosen emulator using Sidequest, create a folder for your ROMs and connect a bluetooth controller (if you’d like a more detailed overview check out the links below). Please let me know if you’d like a video tutorial for getting these Quest 2 retro games running, I’ll be happy to throw something together if there’s a desire/need for it.

A Quest 2 Retroarch setup will allow you to achieve most Oculus Quest 2 emulation needs you may have, it covers everything from Amiga to Gameboy, PS1 to N64 and everything in between. However if you want a Oculus Quest 2 Wii emulator or Oculus Quest 2 Gamecube emulator then you’ll need to ensure you’ve got a Oculus Quest 2 Dolphin emulator setup as well, this handles the newer Nintendo consoles with ease and in my testing I’ve been able to emulate games like Wind Waker & Mario Kart Wii almost flawlessly inside the Quest 2 headset.

Check out these great resources that I used to set these Oculus Quest 2 emulators up:
