Digital Foundry analyzes Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy
The next big multiplatform release is Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, which arrives on Switch and other systems January 25th, 2024. Ahead of that launch, the gang at Digital Foundry has had a chance to put Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy through its paces on all platforms. That gives us a bunch of Switch tech specs to talk about, and you can find the breakdown below.
- native 720p portable,
- full 1080p docked
- frame-time read-out can look spiky as some frames have no animation whatsoever
- stable 30fps
- anime-style cutscenes do exhibit a lot of uneven movement
- cutscenes are animated at 24fps but seem to be encoded at 30fps
- animation frames are displayed for either two or four refreshes of the display
- registers frame-pacing problems in some animated sequences
It’s not all that surprising to know that Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy runs well on Switch considering where the games first released. Still, it’s good to know that Capcom put together a mostly technically sound experience for Nintendo fans.
